Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Additional scholarship support is available to qualified
juniors and seniors through a companion program
of Undergraduate Research Scholarships.
- These scholarships provide an additional $750
per semester for up to three semesters to student
recipients in exchange for participation in ongoing
research programs within CBME research labs alongside
graduate research assistants under supervision
of chemical engineering faculty. Scholarship checks
will be awarded at the end of the semester pending
submission and approval of a research report.
- This
participation requires an average of 10 hours
per week during about 12 weeks per semester. This
additional benefit is available by application
and
awarded at the beginning of each Fall, Spring,
and Summer semester, on the basis of academic merit.
- Applicants for Undergraduate Research Scholarships
are not required to be recipients of the Program
of Excellence.
- All qualified upperclassmen may apply.
Full-time enrollment and at least a 3.25 cumulative
grade point
average is required.
- This program provides a level
of practical research experience that benefits
both those going onto graduate
school and those entering employment with the Bachelor’s
Degree.
